Student engagement policy

Student Participation

The WCA takes your views about your course and your experience as a student seriously.

Student Representative (Rep)

As a student, you are encouraged to play a full part in the decision-making processes of the College and there are many opportunities for you to do so, whether through your Education Committee, or other student-staff consultative forums.

The course has representatives, also known as Student Reps, who are students elected by their fellow students at the start of each academic year. The role of the course rep is to discuss with other students both informally and in pre-arranged meetings how students are experiencing the course, collect feedback from students, and to represent any views or concerns that the students wish to convey to the WCA Advisory Body, the Education Committee, to course leaders and other academic staff at committee meetings. In addition, individual students can ask the course rep to mediate with the WCA on their behalf if they feel they need this option.

Student Evaluation

The WCA student questionnaires give students the opportunity to feedback on their taught course in a simple and secure way. The results of the evaluation help the WCA to better understand student needs and expectations; and inform future developments and enhancements. The evaluation forms are sent via email to each student after every teaching weekend and at the end of each 6 monthly clinical rotation.
