The first two years of the course provides a solid basis in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory and diagnostic methods, Western anatomy, physiology and pathology, and practitioner development. Students will then go on to the 3 year herb course to gain a professional licentiate. It will also be possible for students to take further studies to learn acupuncture.
Students with a prior medical training (e.g. nurses, doctors, osteopaths etc) will be able to skip the Western medical modules in Years 1 and 2 and just focus on learning TCM theory to take them into the herb course.
More information about the ICOM course is available here.
