The WCA, together with the International College of Oriental Medicine (ICOM), is now offering an exciting new pathway for students with no prior medical training who want to practise Chinese Herbal Medicine.
The first two years of the course provides a solid basis in Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) theory and diagnostic methods, Western anatomy, physiology and pathology, and practitioner development. Students will then go on to the 3 year herb course to gain a professional licentiate. It will also be possible for students to take further studies to learn acupuncture.
Students with a prior medical training (e.g. nurses, doctors, osteopaths etc) will be able to skip the Western medical modules in Years 1 and 2 and just focus on learning TCM theory to take them into the herb course.
Information about the ICOM course and how to apply is here.
