Dispensary and pharmacognosy courseA two day course at the Bristol Herb Garden
Organised by the The White Crane Academy of Chinese Herbal Medicine
June 29th and 30th, 2019
At Bristol University – Bristol Herb Garden, BS9 1JG
We are delighted to announce that the White Crane Academy, in conjunction with the Chinese Herb Garden, at Bristol University will be holding a practical weekend on how to prepare and dispense Chinese medicines. It is a great opportunity to develop your knowledge of herbal medicines and to explore ways of preparing and dispensing herbal products. The weekend will be taught by Tony Harrison, an expert in this field. You will also share ideas and experiences with other herbalists and herbal students, and there will be plenty of time to explore the herb garden and meet the living plants.
Day 1 of the weekend will focus on what you need to have in place to safely and professionally dispense all forms of herbal products. There will also be practical sessions on producing tinctures, some external skin preparations, encapsulation, and suppositories. If you choose to undertake the assessment on the course, you will be awarded the RCHM Certificate of Dispensary Practice. The day also counts as 4 CPD points for graduate herbalists.
Day 2 will explore Pharmacognosy and will consider how we source, identify, analyse and quality assure our herbs. There will also be a practical session on using a variety of Pao Zhi techniques to enhance different actions of a herb.
We have a limited number of places available for this course (this is the truth – not a sales pitch!), so if you want to join us please book now.
